Our Story
The Writing Lab was born out of an interest in and appreciation for language, knowing that everything we read is composed of nothing more than words. We are teachers who have read and reread essay upon essay for grades 9-12 for fifteen years because, despite the climate and the pay, we love it. We avidly read novels, newspapers, magazines, essays, editorials, children's books, manuals...anything we can that's good. We read as writers, constantly thinking about elements like argument, structure, and sound.
We have noticed that there are people who dislike writing and really dislike editing their own writing. We have also noticed that there are a lot of writing errors out there. Our hope is to help change that. We like to fix grammatical mistakes, clean up sloppy writing, and cut down on wordiness. We see writing as art and enjoy doing a bit of touch up where we can.
